100%. Never had a smash burger half as good as what you can achieve at home with a cast iron skillet.

Far too much effort for a single meal when I'm the only person in the house who occasionally eats meat, and will not cross contaminate any pans, utensils etc

get a baby skillet (like for frying eggs or whatever) and cut the meet up then freeze portions of it. burgers on demand!

It sounds like it would work for 99% of people but as I only buy ethically sourced meat and don't cook it often at home, and it being just for me - the price & effort ratios are too broken for my use case. If I'm going to that level of effort I might as well crack out the smoker with some brisket and short rib which would be far superior.

So I'm in somewhat of an annoying pickle.
