Looking at how badly I am getting down voted, I am afraid to say anything too controversial. I have probably been reported several times for being correct.

[–] AstralPath@lemmy.ca 1 points 10 months ago (1 children)

Correct about what? I said I'd never sell my soul. I'd never put myself in a position to be targeted in the first place.

[–] deaf_fish@lemm.ee 1 points 10 months ago (1 children)

Oh, how would you do that? I would also like to be not targeted.

[–] AstralPath@lemmy.ca 1 points 10 months ago (1 children)

Try not working for Lockheed Martin? That's a good first step.

[–] deaf_fish@lemm.ee 1 points 10 months ago

Done, what's next?

[–] frayedpickles@lemmy.cafe 1 points 10 months ago* (last edited 10 months ago) (1 children)

That's not what you said

You said a company would threaten someone's family to force them to work for that company. I am not aware of any time in recent history that a company has done this.

Obviously a large corporation would kill people and they do.

[–] deaf_fish@lemm.ee 1 points 10 months ago (2 children)

Do you need specific threats or will just the threat of death due exposure and or starving death because you can't pay for food or shelter?

[–] kerrigan778@lemmy.world 1 points 10 months ago (1 children)

I don't know, only you can know your own integrity. Are some people homeless or hungry or both because there are things they won't do for money though? Yes, of course.

[–] deaf_fish@lemm.ee 1 points 10 months ago

So you would be ok with your family starving because you won't work for military corporation? If true I admire your dedication, but I couldn't do go through with it.

[–] frayedpickles@lemmy.cafe 1 points 10 months ago (1 children)

For your statements to make sense, it need to driven by a specific actor not the system as a whole. Ie, yes, a specific threat.

[–] deaf_fish@lemm.ee 1 points 10 months ago

Hmm, I haven't found any historical examples of specific threats against families. I am a bit surprised, if they are willing to kill workers, why not also threaten their families?

Also my statement was corpos in general. So it was a systemic argument.
