New to Lemmy and wanted to subscribe to some communities instead of looking at Local or All every time. But when I go on my Subscribed list Im seeing communities that I haven't signed up to? Lemmy.Shitpost and Technology are 2 that I remember seeing.

Through safari on my MacBook and I signed up on Lemmy.World. I've got BE: 0.18.1 at the bottom which is what another commenter was asking about as well. I'm honestly not sure if I'm supposed to update something myself.

That's the web-ui and it should behave pretty sensibly. I don't have an answer for you. Maybe try subscribe and unsubscribe to ensure the communities are DEFINITELY not in your subs list, then refresh and clear your browser cache?

I wouldn't expect this to happen a lot at this point.

To add, if the community says "pending", or "subscribe pending", you're probably subscribed to it.
