Darkening the background to focus on the lamp is a good touch, but personally I think keeping the lamp light's color saturation closer to the original might look even better.
This one all I did was adjust the contrast.
Nice! For what it's worth, I don't think the original edit's bad, I just uh...Mixed you up with the other person that recently posted here asking for feedback. That's what I get for not reviewing usernames. ๐
