Lol Baku. I actually know of all these artists.
Same... Are you really an old man Baku?
We need to find out whether Baku has ever yelled at clouds.
ABBA gives it away.
ABBA was huge when I was a teen and the biggest demographic of fans then was old people, at least 40. No teen ever copped to buying ABBA records.
So that would make Baku at 85+
π
ABBA had a resurgence when I was 15 so could make Baku anywhere between 40 - 80.
Also Baku is buying an ABBA vinyl, which implies he owns a vinyl player. Baku is 40-80 confirmed.
Caution: Old people natter.
Aka turntable or record player.
The thing is you can't dance too close to it or you'll make the needle jump. Iykyk
da-a-a-a-a-a-ancing queen
Tried to buy* they cancelled my order
No vinyl player as yet. I also own a prisoner VHS set (although only 9 episodes), but don't have a VHS player (the house used to have one, other kid stole it on his way out)
Just gonna leave these here then...
Have you heard this one?

Sure have!
Have you heard this one? https://youtu.be/Byq35qpZ3wA
Hahaha yeah. Many moons ago.
Baku is actually a 40yo - confirmed π
Yeah
Like 70% of my general music listening is stuff I'd be concerned if you didn't know. I have an old people music playlist I spend a lot of time on
same!
Cosby Sweater is a fucking banger! Love that song so much - I impressed my partner when I could sing it all without the music π
You have good taste!
Edit:
KARMA KARMA KARMA KARMA
KARMA CHAMELEON
YOU COME AND GOOOO
YOU COME AND GOOOOOOOOOOO
LOVING WOULD BE EASY IF YOUR COLOURS
WERE LIKE MY DREAMS
RED GOLD AND GREEEN
RED GOLD AND GREEEEEEEEEEEEEEN
^also a major banger^
omg, I've always loved Culture Club, I still have their albums I bought in the 80s.
Boy George always came across as a strong presence, artistic, smart and a really nice guy. That smile, eh. π
When I was a kid I thought it was a Christmas song because of the red gold and green lyrics π
England has a thing for white reggae bands.
Thanks!
It was my 4th top last year
And 18th top in 2022
Baku. You would love our Friday night playlists. We have the same taste in music dude. Well done.
Eh, skews a bit Aussie for me. Most of my pre-2000s listening is foreign. I know/like some of it, but mostly I'm just sat here confused
I'll reply to both your comments here. Not old people's taste. Good taste yeah. The fact you have House of the Rising Sun makes my heart swell with pride.
I know you didn't ask for it but here's a few recommendations that I think you'll like and know: T - Rex, Steve Miller Band, Talking Heads, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, 10cc.
Keep up the good work friend.
Tom Petty is awesome.
100% agree
T-Rex, Steve Miller Band, and Talking Heads are just fantastic classics!
I can think of 100 other bands like CCR, The Who, Bread.
Fucking ayeeeew I think I'd really enjoy your karaoke days/nights tbh!
Sometimes him or I will make a playlist and queue music that comes to us during night. Sometimes we do it on the fly. There's always alcohol involved.
Alcohol and a pack of smokes to get the husky of Kim Carnes π
A joint for Steve Miller Band always π
Damn, now I really want to join in on your karaoke nights!! Fuck it sounds greattt!!!
I'll post some music tomorrow. Party starts at 3pm. π¬πΊππ€
Fuck yeaaaah!!!!!
Her hair is Harlow gold, her lips a sweet surprise
Her hands are never cold
She's got Bette Davis Eyyeeessss
We share a single family streaming account, so these recaps never work for me. The kids pollute the data.
My son goes to sleep listening to music, so my top artist with 449 hours was a guy who just sits and plays piano.
my top artist is phil dragash πΆβπ«οΈ
It counts audiobooks? That's a bit inaccurate.
It doesn't, at least on Spotify. I'm guessing goonsy's making a joke, or maybe YouTube does
@nath@aussie.zone
There's some caro emerald in there too, thanks to your recco last year. I got super into her stuff late last year (as I think I told you), but mostly after the Spotify wrapped cut off date, which is why she's not super high this year
Ha! I had the impression you didn't think much of her after that chat. You're in an exclusive club now of being one of the only Australians who knows who she is - though she was pretty big in Europe at the time. Now that the kids are both playing instruments, this sort of music is getting played a bit on our end, also.
I love how hardly anything in your top songs was released after your birth.
Nah, not at all, I loved pretty much the entire deleted scenes album, and a handful of others!
She's my 9th most listened to artist of the last 365 days
Caro Emerald is a treasure! There are dozens of us! Dozens!
