Some don't like that they're too communist

[–] Cowbee@lemmy.ml 3 points 2 years ago (1 children)

What do you mean "too Communist?"

[–] tiredturtle@lemmy.ml -2 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Some people have affinities towards right-wing principles so that makes trots too much for them

[–] Cowbee@lemmy.ml 2 points 2 years ago (2 children)

What are these "right-wing principles" non-Trot Communists have an affinity for?

Yep, that's a great article I love sharing.

I was reminded of it because of the other user

No no, not necessarily non-trot communists but anyone

[–] Cowbee@lemmy.ml 1 points 2 years ago* (last edited 2 years ago) (1 children)

So Trots are the "true leftists" in your opinion? So true and pure they haven't successfully had a single revolution, so they are untainted by reality?

[–] tiredturtle@lemmy.ml 0 points 2 years ago

Nah, purity tests or sectarianism aren't useful

@tiredturtle @Binette

No. What many Marxist-Leninists, at least, don't like about Trotskyist is their extremely flawed ideology.

I recommend you read this book that further explains the problems with Trotskyism: https://www.marxists.org/reference/archive/stalin/works/1924/11_19.htm

Yea, Stalin's not a trustworthy authority on communism (all puns very much intended) but it's interesting anyway. There was a lot happening and affecting that falling out

[–] Radical_EgoCom@mastodon.social 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

@tiredturtle

I see no reason why Stalin would be an untrustworthy authority on communist ideology.

There is no joke. I don't see why Stalin would be an untrustworthy authority on communist ideology. Based on the books I've read of his, he seems to be very trustworthy in his analysis and explanation of the ideology of communism and socialism.
