are those triangle bollards made of steel or concrete? they kinda look like mines

[-] Nougat@fedia.io 124 points 1 week ago

They're not yours, they're Lithuania's.

That gave me a good laugh, my grandfather would most definitely refer to this as a "Groaner".

[-] NoForwardslashS@sopuli.xyz 11 points 1 week ago

That's funny because that's what I call your grandfather

[-] Bluefruit@lemmy.world 7 points 1 week ago

Well he's gone now but like him and my dad, I too groan often lol.

[-] BilliamBoberts@lemmy.world 12 points 1 week ago

Well, a few of mine have gone missing, and they look awfully similar to the one's Lithuania's got 🤔

Not hard to find when it's hogging so much space at the top of the map

[-] Maggoty@lemmy.world 1 points 1 week ago

They should share some of that space. Maybe with the Baltics or Finland?

Concrete is pretty much always reinforced with steel rebar.

[-] muntedcrocodile@lemm.ee 14 points 1 week ago

Yep! Concrete is great in compression shit in tension. Steel is great in tension and good in compression but expensive af (reletivly). So u can achieve material properties better than steel or concrete alone at a very efficient price by combining them.

One of god's gifts to man was giving us concrete and steel with the same thermal expansion properties.

I'm pretty sure I read that somewhere.
