I've been experimenting with dishwashing tablets for a while now and I'll tell you my favourite tip of all time. I place one on top of my drains and let it naturally dissolve. Reason for this is old drains can get a bit stinky over time and this is the most easiest why to solve this and also maintain fresh smelling drains.

I use solid tablets. I have never used the liquidy ones.

That'll clean you out and leave you sparkling.

A bit confused… do you wet it, or let the tap slowly drip on the tablet? Or does the dry tablet pull enough moisture from the air to start dissolving?

Unless you chuck it in the drain

No. Just leave it sitting on top of the drain and use the tap as normal. It will slowly dissolve itself.

Oh ok, for incidental water in a less frequently used sink. Like from filling buckets in the laundry, or filling a glass over the second sink.

Thanks.

(Was confused as my sinks tend to stay dry until used, on which they get filled or deluged.)
