Most Australian Palestine activist groups seem to use Instagram as their main channel for announcements.

I imagine mods don’t allow support for protests, even though I thought lemmy would be the ideal place to post about this.

I don't think this is true of the mods on this instance, but they might not want it in certain communities. Probably the individual city comms (e.g. !sydney@aussie.zone ) are the best place for posting about upcoming rallies, or maybe !australianpolitics@aussie.zone ? So long as it's not an overwhelming amount of posts that's drowning out everything else I wouldn't expect the mods to have a problem with it.

People responded strongly in the comments there, but from what I've seen I doubt the mods/admins thought you were breaking any rules or doing anything bannable.

You can probably just message the mods and ask, they don't bite 🙂
