Honestly, if the people in charge of 2 now were responsible for it all along it would be just as dog shit as 3. Payday 2 used to be fantastic, but I wouldn't bother anymore.

I wish I could still play it as it used to be.

You can, here is a guide to revert to any earlier version of the game https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2375398507. Iirc this works for any game on steam
