Is there a way to diagnose cause of appearing and disappearing SSD in a desktop when SMART is OK? Mainly NVME M2 type.

I am assuming you've already run the OEM's diagnostic tools for your particular SSD?

Sorry, I have not done that yet. Presently I am waiting for it to come back alive. Last 3 boots have been a no show.

Sorry to hear that!

I recently had my laptop die on me (it was over 10 years old, so no big surprise), but then I had a critical issue with desktop's PSU just 2 days later.

Not having access to your computers is no fun.

It is also the data that you lost which is sad.

For me, SMART seems to be all OK. Now should try to clean, re-seat and hope for the best.
