I'm so annoyed at myself. Was supposed to do a fasting blood test this morning but I stupidly didn't put a reminder to not eat on my phone... And I rarely eat breakfast, but I'm WFH today and well, wouldn't today just be the day I go "oh! Leftover pasta, I'd better eat that" and I remember the blood test RIGHT as I finish eating... fuck. now I have to wrangle getting tested at 8 tomorrow before heading back to work.

Also very annoyed at uni who in their infinite wisdom have centralised all standard extension requests (NOT special consideration), and noooo a drs. cert isn't enough, they need to file a fucking special form outlining exactly how the illness hampered your ability to study. It's enough for my workplace that actually pays me money but it's not enough for a course that I'm paying to do?? Fuck these guys man, I will be glad to never deal with them again once I'm done with this course

Melbourne Pathology has 'supercentres' that are open from 7.30 am. I use the Northcote Plaza one, but there may be one closer to you.

Do they bulk bill if the referral document has another pathology provider's form thingo? I once went to a different pathology chain than the one on my referral and got stung with out of pocket fees... I'll call and ask maybe. Thanks for the heads up.

I think they take referrals from ALL providers. Dunno about the fees, I've never been asked to pay.

Turns out there isn't a super clinic near me that opens at 7 :( But the tip is much appreciated. The Melb Pathology places closer to work (and me) are open at 8 which would work better logistically.

I think the time I had to pay was because it was an ECG and I went to a pathology clinic at a hospital and billing was all convoluted and confusing. Looks like it should be ok with a standard blood test.

I had to take one of those once. I ended up fasting for too long. I thought I wasn't meant to eat 12 hours prior, so ate 13 hours before the test, but apparently it was actually8 hours prior, but not over 12

Was the leftovers good at least?

I think it was a bit off as I had a bad bout of the runs after (though I think it was partly in response to the coffee I then had). So none of it was worth it :(

Thats an all round disappointment.
