Hello Everyone! (lemmy.world)

Hi!

So, I was in another recovery group on reddit, but over time I've come to disagree with some of the militant mindsets there. Then I remembered I had this lemmy account sitting under a layer of dust and decided to finally join my first community! Just reading the rules I can tell this is a much more inviting place than I was in previously, so I look forward to spending some time here.

One of my most powerful morning rituals is clicking my tally counter when I wake up to count each new day of sobriety, followed by reading out a card aloud from an affirmation card set.

Is there anything that you do in the mornings to celebrate a each daily reprieve?

I re-watch this powerful short "illustration on addiction" every year to remind myself of the importance of waking up and choosing sobriety every day.

My first exposure to the Anonymous programs was through watching Andreas' car talk videos, and he has recently started writing in addition to making videos (including on the topic of addiction, recovery and sobriety, it seems!)
