Hello all! I am going to be in Warsaw Chopin Airport for a layover on Friday September 8th between 7:25 A.M. and 11:10 A.M. I was wondering if there would be any time to see sights at all or for any cool restaurants. I plan to be out until about 1-1.5 hours ahead of my scheduled departure time. Even if there isn’t time for the city any locations closer to the airport would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Hi! My 3 brothers and I are working with a Polish law firm to get our dual citizenship since our grandparents are from Poland. My oldest half brother is biracial but identifies as black and is not very light-skinned. He's a little nervous about how he will be treated in Poland because of what we hear. We still have family in Poland but not many speak English and some of them have made comments about his complexion and ancestry and questioned if he was actually my mom's kid. I'm wondering how you all think a black American with Polish citizenship will get treated in Poland. I'm fully white and was embraced entirely by my cousins and relatives in Poland for what it's worth but he's worried and that has me worrying too.

Thanks for your feedback on my question and we are all excited to get our citizenship hopefully in the next 6 months. We hope to visit Poland together in the next couple of years together as siblings.

I'am living in Poland (Katowice/Byttom) now with my wife, we are from Brazil, she moved to work here and already has karta pobytu (currently working via contract). I have the D type visa, would be posible to work with pyszne or other delivery companies? and how it is? I love bikes and i could use this passion to make some more money in the process.

I don't speak polish, always using translator, and this is for extra income because i have spare time some days with my main job (online).

Hello all

My wife's grandfather recently passed away and I've been researching his family history for her.

He was what you might call a German Pole. He was born (and his parents, grandparents and great grandparents) in a village near Katowice in 1933. They were farmers. They spoke Swabian as their first language, and were devout Lutherans.

After WWII their farm was appropriated by the communist authorities and they moved to a refugee camp in East Germany. They emigrated to Canada on a UN Stateless Person laissez-passer in 1948, so they were definitely not German citizens.

He always called himself Silesian (rather than Polish or German) and said that the Communists had taken everything from his family, including - and this is what interests me - his citizenship.

Is that true, or was he misinformed?

Thanks very much for your help.

Rodney

Katowice, about two hours ago. Me my gf and two of my friends, we sit in a bar. I'm not drinking, I have work tomorrow. Tipsy American comes to us, talks to us about some bullshit, [...] He ask my girlfriend if she has onlyfans, she quite puzzled, with a frown on her face replies "no, but it seems like you have only McDonald's" he thought she was dumb, he left I don't think he understood what she said.

I've been working from home (Vietnam) as a female software engineer - computer scientist 👩‍💻 for some remote companies, included Poland, so gotten a work visa was really easy.

I'm 24 and never worked at any native Vietnamese company before after graduated of my uni, this is the first time I'll be an official staff instead of just a hired onliner.

Coming to Poland in months or early 2024, I'll updated (and maybe pics of me and cousin) for you guys when I was there.

Actually previous posts asking advices was just for fun and curious, I'm already knew Poland is a safer place than Vietnam, maybe not 1000% but at least I'm not going to worry about could be bully by my "kings", since you guys said Vietnameses would be treated nice by both natives Polishes men and women.

Hey guys, I am from the Czech Republic, and recently allegro started their website here. Is it legit? Also if I understand correctly it's something like Amazon? You don't buy directly from Allegro but from some 3rd party. I was looking to buy a notebook there and it was from some shop named BuyU. Do you have some experience with BuyU? Thanks :-)

I’m a Polish citizen who was never lived in Poland but it’s always been my dream to move back. I’m American and work in the administrative side of a healthcare organization - what kind of job could I get in Poland besides the obvious (English teacher, tourism)? I have a masters already but happy to go back to school for something if there’s a decent paid industry where barely speaking Polish won’t hurt me.

Does it depend on the location? Some places do it and other places don't? Every shop has their own rules?

I once asked a while ago at a Duży Ben and the cashier told me that it was one for one of the same brand only.

But a Blumis I was able to trade in different brands.

Is it always one for one to offset the deposit? Or can I bring in 10 bottles to cash in on the return to pay for 1 or 2 beers?

When it is over 90 degrees outside, it is a good day to stay inside and make pierogi!
