If someone like this thing

I recently created a new Github Account but probably there is some issue with my account. Whenever I am creating a issue on any repo either by web or cli. It shows that issue is created and actually it is shown as created in my recent activity tab if I am loggined. But If I pull up a incognito tab and Enter issues URL there it shows page not found. What is actual issue (do I need any verification?) And how to solve it?

Ventoy is an open source tool to create bootable USB drives for ISO/IMG/VHD(x)/WIM/EFI files. With Ventoy, you don't need to format the disk over and over, you just need to copy the disk images to the USB drive and boot them directly. You can have multiple images on the disk and Ventoy will give you a boot menu to select them.

FOSS AI painting with Krita

It's so awesome that I can let my kid paint with Krita and let her enhance the picture with AI live. She wanted to have an AI picture editor on her phone but I didn't like the privacy policy. But Krita AI Diffusion came to the rescue.

After testing it out myself I showed her Krita, the most important tools and how to use layers and before I could say anything she was off to paint a nice landscape. When she was finished I actually got to enable the AI plugin and show her the ropes around that. And after enabling live painting she went ham and added a phoenix and a giant hand.

Hardest thing about it was that she had to describe what she wanted in English. But she's already learning that in school so it shouldn't give her too much trouble in the long run.

Anyways, FOSS rules!

Avenza seems to be the go-to app. It works pretty well and all, but I'm wanting to know if there's any software available that can allow a team of people to simultaneously access and make edits/notes to a geo-referenced map. It also need to have kind of the same base functionality of being able to show your current location and all that. Ideally it should be designed for mobile first, but being able to access it from desktop too would be a plus.

So, just for one example, I could add a placemarker on the map, and any of my team members who are also accessing that map will be able to see (in real time) the placemarker that I just made. Does this type of feature exist?

Hi all, I really like the open source Linux application called DIA it's a diagram tool that handles flowcharts beautifully.

I'm trying to find an offline Android application that is similar to that, that I can use locally on my Android tablet.

Other software categories that might work include mind mapping, but anything like that really is what I'm after.

There seems to be a severe lack of this, I can't really find anything. I used to use freemind on Linux also, again a great application, but nothing seems to be available for Android.

If anyone has any suggestions, I would love to hear them. Thank you.

Im working on a project for some software I want in the world. But I'm such a hobbyist that I've never thought of publishing any of my projects, but after doing so much work in it I kind of want other to have access to it after I feel its ready.

Whats the process of distribution? I guess I typically use github when interacting with FOSS community, but its still confusing for me to navigate as an end user sometimes, let alone being an uploader.

FWIW its simply a few python modules and other supporting txt and jsons. Targeting mostly Windows because that's what I use.

Edit: there are a bunch of great comments here! To clarify, I want to get it functional and somewhat bug free then fully upload everything so someone can see my idea and do it better. So I think I'm going to go with unlicense, because I don't really care about getting credit or getting contributions necessarily. Thanks all!

Hi all, I need your expertise please :)

tldr: I'm looking for something to create and share lists with my wife, but that also allows her to edit them, preferably with a WYSIWYG editor, on both our Android devices and Windows and Linux computers. To complicate things, I help to run a small music festival, and some sort of collaboration tool would be helpful there too. Joplin looks great, but I can't figure out the collaboration without using their server.

The longer version is, I'm taking my family to visit the in-laws, and was making a list of things we need to take. I have complicated medical needs, and my kid is autistic, so there are things that we cannot forget. I realised that a list that we can both work on would be better, and would be something that we could use in the future for things like medical appointments.

While I was looking for some software, I realised that it would also be helpful for the music festival committee.

I'm looking for something that we can edit on any device, and have the changes show up immediately on any other logged in device. I want anyone with permission to be able to edit the document too. Ideally it needs a WYSIWYG editor, and needs to be simple to use once it's set up.

Joplin looks great, but it's not clear whether collaboration is only available through Joplin Cloud, or whether it's available with a self hosted server.

Etherpad and Padland look good, but Etherpad doesn't currently have mobile support, and I can't tell whether Padland is standalone or needs Etherpad to work.

I'm happy to self host something, but the simpler it is to run and use, the better :)

As you can easily notice, today many open source projects are using some services, that are… sus.

For example, Github is the most popular place to store your project code and we all know, who owns it. And not to forget that sketchy AI training on every line of your code. Don't we have alternatives? Oh, yes we have. Gitlab, Codeberg, Notabug, etc. You can even host your own Gitea or Forgejo instance if you want.

Also, Crowdin is very popular in terms of software (and docs) translation. Even Privacy Guides and The New Oil use Crowdin, even though we have FLOSS Weblate, that you can easily self-host or use public instances.

So, my question is: if you are building a FLOSS / privacy related project, why using proprietary and privacy invasive tools?

I am wondering what the standard tool is for sending and receiving SMS and MMS on a device that does not have a SIM card in it.

Is there some tool that can do it natively? Is there a specific carrier that is commonly used for this? Is there some sort of selfhosted service that bridges it to email, and if so do I need to put a SIM card in my server?

Bonus points if I can do it within Emacs.
