Multiple countries are trying to force porn sites to have an efficient age verification. With frightening numbers like half of 12 year old boys go monthly to porn sites.

Sure for an adult who remember the time where at best one kid would have brought a magazine to school, it feels concerning. However, it's been easily 20 years that every household has high speed internet which is full of porn. So the kids under 30 (let's call them Gen-Z) had a massive access to porn while growing up.

Is there any "sociologicial" studies about how it impacted these young adults ? Are they sexually more fucked-up than the millennials ?

A while back, I met this guy at the gym. He’s 24, and I’m 42. He approached me, and usually, I don’t give guys the time of day in situations where I’m already busy (like working out). But he didn’t come across cheesy, and I liked his energy, so we started talking. We became gym buddies. One thing led to another, and we ended up hooking up once in the heat of the moment. That was a wake-up call for me, like, what am I doing? So I told him we should stop, and that he needs to find someone he can grow with and build a proper future with. He may want a family someday, and I already have a 20-year-old son, I’m done with that phase. But none of this has deterred him. He’s still pursuing me, and I don’t understand why.

All I know is that I love anyone (with a preference for women) regardless of gender. I would say gender does matter to me since I prefer women, but I would love anyone regardless, and would gladly date women, men, and everyone in-between. not only this, but if my love transitioned, I would still love them.

I live near a huge highway construction project, and about once a month they break the water main, meaning we get a boil water notice for ~48h.

I have a Culligan water filter that runs to a spout on my sink, and one that's on our ice maker, but we use the level 1 canisters to remove the taste from the water. These canisters are good for about 6 months of regular use (ice maker is about a year).

During the boil water notice, the level 1 filters aren't sufficient to filter out bacteria and such, so I'd need a level 3 filter for that. But, those are expensive and only good for about 2 months, so I don't want to exclusively use them.

I'd like to have one in storage that I can throw on when we have a main break, but I'm not sure the best way to store it. It's not super easy to drain the water out of the canisters.

Edit: While I appreciate the thought, I'm not interested in alternatives to my setup. I like my countertop water dispenser, and I'm looking for a way to keep my current QoL during an outage with the least amount of trouble.

I saw the whole RFK and CDC debacle, how the agency is being weaponized to be antivax, and I cannot for the life of me understand what is happening. What does RFK has to gain with stopping vacines? What does the government gains from it? It cannot be just for show political streght, is it? Just to say "ha, in your face!" and then cause huge troubles for themselves down the road? There must be something they will have right now. But what is it? Money? Contracts? Favours?

It’s a broad label for anything they don’t like (LGBTQ+, feminism, DEI, etc.), but doesn’t “woke” mean you are awake? Would that imply that things that are not “woke” or are “anti-woke” are “asleep”?

Then they go on about conspiracies (“climate change is not real”, “deep state”, “5G is harmful”, “vaccines cause autism”, the list goes on unfortunately…) where they’re claiming that you need to “wake up to the truth”. Surely they don’t consider “woke” to be “the truth”, so shouldn’t they call it something like “asleep”, “sleepy”, “snoozy”, or similar?

The reason I ask is because, we have a government in the USA, who has demonstrated time and time again about how little accountability and responsibility matters to them. We have a "president" who is a convicted felon, has been impeached twice and obviously isn't serving any level of sentencing whatsoever because we live in a world like that for some reason.

So why should anyone give a shit whether or not the Epstein files are released? I mean it is obvious that Trump has associated with him, it is no doubt that there are other high profile associates too, who are making their actions about how they're handling this more apparent that their words ever could.

But the point I'm getting to is - why does this shit matter to an administration and particularly Trump when he's about dodged everything you can throw at him? If he's apparently immune, his voterbase doesn't care and there is no sense of honor or anything through this administration. Wouldn't these files mean next to nothing to him?

What is this BS

This man (who is 38) got exposed by my friend for messaging her 13 year old sister inappropriately in a chatroom. She screenshotted and also video recorded the chatroom and posted it online. This caused a years long obsession with her and he claims he's signed up on every site so he can monitor and report her. Besides stalking her and making a whole site where he archives everything she says so he can twist it to make her look bad, he's also doing this thing where he finds things he deems "questionable" about her (and also other people who exposed him) like:

• "None of these toxic people like dogs. That should tell you everything you need to know"

• "These people support piracy. I'm glad I have a conscience, I cannot say the same for the toxic people I've encountered."

• "Every one of these people have been banned (because he spams reports on multiple accounts). The continued existence of my site proves I'm not the guilty party here."

He also admits to spamming reports on her, for instance if she makes a very obvious joke he deliberately takes that joke literally in the reports. He wants to get her banned. On his site he records himself clicking the report button and filing reports on her. He claims that he is the one being stalked and harassed.

This is an update for the previous thread. I'm helping my friend file a police report (she lives in the US, this man lives in Australia) but I'd like to know if there's a name for this particular aspect of the harassment.

I'm trying to share a book reading list with some friends, but Pastebin's SMART filters flagged my content as potentially offensive, even though it's just a list of book titles and authors. The only option I have is to make the paste private, which isn't useful for sharing.

I tried PrivateBin as an alternative, but it doesn't allow editing after creation. I need a service that lets me edit the paste and keeps it available for at least a year. Does anyone have a recommendation for a reliable pastebin alternative that meets these criteria?

Ok, so I don't feel much sexual attraction to others, but if we're close enough and they're very special to me, I won't mind having sex with them and am pretty open to doing it regardless of feeling attraction or anything like that. The attraction is there, but it feels different.

my future job involves taking labor samples from point a to point b in a huge university campus involving several buildings and there is a ton of downtime: I often see my future coworkers playing on their phones, buying coffee several times a day, talking or smoking out of boredom.

There are moments when every laboratory wants you at once but even then they take it easy and a person cannot be at two places at the same time.

I don't know if it's really going to be this relaxed but it really looks so.

I was thinking loading my smartphone with books, find a quiet place and read, learn something.

Instead of smoking I could stretch and do some easy pilates and yoga.

there's always going several times to the toilet to have a seat and relax with nobody pestering you.

I don't reckon I could study something for college, write a book or poetry or learn a foreign language, as I couldn't concentrate.

what do you do in your downtime when you're lucky enough not to have a supervisor micromanaging you?
