Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis spoke to reporters late Monday night, hours after a Georgia Grand Jury handed up a 90+ page indictment against former president Donald Trump and 18 co-defendants. The indictments are the result of a years-long investigation into alleged efforts to overturn the 20202 presidential election in Georgia. In addition to Trump, the indictment lists Mark Meadows, Rudy Giuliani, Jenn Lynn Ellis, Kenneth Chesebro, Jeff Clark, John Eastman, Ray Stallings Smith III, Robert Cheeley, Michael Roman, David Shafer, Shawn Micah Tresher Still, Stephen Cliffgard Lee, Harrison William Prescott Floyd, Trvian C. Kutti, Sidney Powell, Cathleen "Cathy" Latham, Scott Grahama Hall, and Misty Hampton (Emily Misty Hayes). Each faces multiple counts, but they all share a single count among them: Violation of the Georgia RICO (Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations) Act. Willis said the indictment includes 41 felony counts and is 97 pages long. She said the named defendants have until Friday, August 25 at 12 pm EST to surrender. When asked about a possible trial date, Willis said that will be up to the judge who is assigned the case, but that prosecutors are targeting a date in the next six months.
