Today I fought Nergigante for the first time...and then three more times... In the first try I already got it to being close to death (with the skull showing on the map), and fainted two more times in the last area which failed the quest. And all the next attempt were the same, I always fail in the last area by fainting two times. I'm gonna beat it soon, he's really not that hard, but I was wondering if others had the same "problem" with his last area 🙃 Also, how the fuck do you dodge his aerial charge??

On the official Twitter account, the team announced that an online showcase talking about Monster Hunter Now's release date and gameplay will be held this July 27, 2023, at 4:00 AM PDT or 1:00 PM CEST. I remember in MH Tri that you would get a "level" of some elemental resistance for each 5 points of that elemental resistance on armour pieces. Like, 4 points would give you no benefit at all, but 5 points would give you low elemental resistance, 10 points mid, and 15 points high (or something like that). So little me thought I would have a little bit of everything, having a couple of points in each resistance, and I only much later found out I actually had no benefit at all. So my question is: do the points/resistances work in the same way in MHW too, or does each point count? I searched the internet but surprisingly did not find an answer.

I'm mainly posting this to warn anyone interested in this game NOT to buy it. This is a gamepass only type of game. I love Capcom, but this one is just a question mark.

I've played in all CBT and OBTs and I just don't know what this is. Its not dino EDF. Its not Dino Crisis. Its not a Lost Planet reboot (when it should be).

And most importantly it is NOT worth $60. I think it may be fun for a while with a XBGP subscription, but even then, I don't think it lasts long cuz its just...not that interesting, even though it runs well (RE Engine).

Gonna run through the early game of MHW with my wife. Been only using Switchaxe for my first 120 hours or so here, and I think this is a good time to try something new. What would y’all recommend for a switch axe guy? I was thinking this time maybe something fast and can guard? Like the opposite of switch axe? I’m not sure where to go tho.

FYI, there are some federation issues going on atm that's causing posts and comments between some instances to move very slowly or outright drop. The newest version of lemmy, dropping tomorrow, has supposedly taken steps to fix this. So I'm holding onto some posts to watch how things develop.

On Twitter, Monster Hunter Now shared news that it is opening a second round of closed beta testing for the mobile title. However, it seems that the devs are limiting access to the new Monster Hunter spin-off. According to the post, only those with Android devices will be able to participate in the next round. This is quite different from Monster Hunter Now's initial closed beta period, where users who are both on iOS and Android platforms were free to register to test the game. What's more, the game's website posted that only an estimated 10,000 participants will be accepted for this round.
