I am taking pictures since 1980. After participating in several national competitions I decided in 1985 to participate in international photographic salons and specifically in the sections of color slide, nature and travel photography.

As an active competition photographer since 1985 I was 1400x successfull [sic] with more than 200 different pictures in several international competitions until 1999 and had won 166 prizes.

Over the past 30 years I had been a member of the Photographic Society of America (PSA), the DVF (German Association of Photography) and the Royal Photographic Society of England. I was awarded with EFIAP from the FIAP, an ARPS from the Royal Photographic Society of England and PPSA of the Photographic Society of America.

The last 15 years I took my pictures with a digital camera, first with Olympus E10, then with Canon digital SLR cameras.

I take pictures form everything that interests me. My pictures are always coming out of my head and then realized with focal lengths ranging from 10 to 400 mm.

An important tool for me is the polarizing filter.

'Skylight I, Herzog & de Meuron' by JuanVan

One of the skylights of the Forum Building. Edificio Forum Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain. Architects: Herzog & de Meuron, 2004

The triangular building measuring 180 meters on each side and 25 meters in height. The building has an auditorium with a seating capacity of 3,200 and an exhibition hall covering nearly 5,000 square meters.

It was the symbol of the 2004 Universal Forum of Cultures.
