ok, but the Russians feel that way about other Russians, too

Nah, it's been hastily refitted as a gasoline tanker.

According to another article I saw, local governments in rural Russia are already suspending trash collection and other services due to fuel shortages, even to the point where people are being told to find their own transportation to the hospital because there's no gas for ambulances. For now, it's the middle of nowhere Siberia being hit with those kinds of problems but I think we'll see them spread westward unless the fuel shortage gets better soon.

Probably not China, but once all the fuel supplies are depleted and the tanks can't move, I could see Mongolia sweeping in on horseback to reclaim their historic lands.

He didn't get invited by his own prime minister to a conference being held in the town where he was born and raised.

Luka probably doesn't sleep to well these days. On one hand, there might be a cup of polonium tea with his name on it; on the other hand, his people almost certainly have no desire to be involved in that whole clusterfuck. Considering that all of Belarus is easily within Ukraine's drone/missile range and has nowhere near Russia's AA protection, he'd be better hope people don't think to stockpile gasoline for Molotov cocktails before kinetic sanctions begin.

Seize more shadow fleet tankers, all they gonna do is be helplessly mad about it!

Putin claimed this week that “the entire West” was providing Ukraine with “a massive flow of drones” aimed at destabilizing society.

Honestly, the Russian propaganda version of "the entire West" sounds pretty based. If Putin's gonna act like our hype man, we should our best try to live up to expectations.

They should do catch and release - seize the tanker when it's full of oil, sell off the contents, then release it back into the wild so it can be caught again later.

Surely nothing bad will happen to those shipments of highly flammable liquid traveling over very predictable land routes that are vulnerable to drone attack.

I think I was most impressed by the guy who jerry rigged an extra gas tank in the back seat of his fucking car.
