I've been combining eggs and my interest in Go (the ancient board game) to similar effect.

We could make e-waste into a crafting activity!
My hobby is collecting broken computers and putting them on a shelf for later! Your hobby sounds pretty sensible - come the apocalypse you can craft away and you'll have loads to barter with! Artists will travel to peruse your epic retro craft supply cavern!
I'll be left wondering what to do with a Pentium Core2 if I don't take action soon! I do upcycle them but right now the backlog is silly and they probably just need to go to the dump because nobody wants a midrange PC from 20 years ago.
Maybe my hobby is e-waste!? Fark! =-O
Sounds like a great idea which neither of us is gonna remember about tomorrow. I'm in!
- Invent incredibly dumb device.
- Brand it as "Smart" to lean into Dunning-Kruger effect sales.
- Profit!!
Extremely destructive to the future of the company, you say? Go on...?
We've been having short power cuts lately (rural area, windy!) and now it's starting to look like my Dell Optiplex sMaRt RaDiAtOr 50w homelab/studio/shed heater could do with a UPS to protect against data loss! Though it does have btrfs raid1 which is pretty handy for a ~~radiator~~ RAID1ator!
Thanks! I'm still a Lemmy account noob though I've been lurking for a year. Ex-Reddit - finally deleted my account there, it was time!
Part of what took me so long to sign up for Lemmy was ADHD and trying to choose an instance to join! So in the end I picked a geek/coder/anarcho/punk/egalitarian seeming one.
Hadn't really thought about people blocking the whole instance. I mostly just like to help answer questions and engage in some online banter.
Is this the point in my Lemmy life where I decide to create a second account on another instance just in case!? Probably, lol!
Oh shit I'm on dbzer0 - just seemed like a good geeky instance. Is it a problematic one? Thx!
They're heating the room too so technically it's a radiator with network attached storage!
Windows: creates e-waste
Linux: collects e-waste under the stairs "just in case it's useful"
Try with Soylent Green!
