In europe we are always unsure about genocide being good or bad.

War over taiwan? Well if China was attacked, then of course Philipines should help PRC. They follow one China policy just like we do.

Boo hoo our imperial corporations can no longer terrorize this piece of africa, continuing in our proud colonialist legacy. Yes lets be sceptical of the military kicking them out(hopefully). Lets address THEIR democratic record. Who do you think you can fool here? When the government in Burkina Faso took power same argument could be made. Yet they invest massively in for example agriculture industry. They prop up education for young children. Compare this to what was there before.

I hope that this will become liberation to the Niger and others soon to follow.

If you want to do pro russian war reporting, you have to be smarter about it. Just using the liberation rhetoric did not work since iraq. (At least not on anyone with half a brain). But yes ukrainian community was indeed liberated from ukrainian leadership.

Well they dont have a choice though. Too much oil for such a freedom.

Well what exactly did they lose? (im aware of the repression, but what exactly do you mean) Not to say this is completely legal. The western backed protests did their part, make cpc look bad. But compared to LA for example shooting with rubber of foreign journalists, holding a protester down and repeatedly trampling him with a horse, unmarked ice illegaly detaining brown people. Common argument i read was that these illegals and aliens should not behave like this in MY country. Freedom of speech. Meh I agree western democracy is different.

I get the propaganda but even some serious people seem to buy these images. They of course dont look to LA, for some pure democracy to compare to.

Taiwan is not sovereign, the government is a us puppet state, which is armed by us in gross violation of the us one china policy. If us puppet is your view of democracy then I see why you have no issue. All since beginning KMT was so horribly undemocratic, that even the maoists seemed very moderate. Some of the most vile stuff ive ever read came from kmt white terror(even wiki has some). I hope that im wrong, but the germans seem to like former nazi friendly states. Kmt had numerous connections to fascists and nazis.

Taiwanese are rich thanks to massive investments from US. As for the comparison to mainland, cpc managed an unprecedented in history wealth creation, comparing small part of china which received massive foreign capital inflow seems almost unreasonable.

Many taiwanese have also mainland residence, talk about not benefiting. What exactly do you mean by pro cpc propaganda? I get it it sounds bad, but why is it ok to run political ads in west and not in east?

Yeah I second that my german friend seems by far most against china, hes quite educated so especially on taiwan he conceded the international law, but idk why german media is so biased on this.

I get why government opposing china would, what I dont get is regular people who are serious about this. Sure there is the propagandized herd, but even some smarter people I know seem to have weird sinophobic preconceptions about this. All europeans.

How anyone serious can side with taiwan, other than maybe some nazis, is beyond me.
