Thanks for your care and personal experience. I’ll say that perhaps one day I can re-examine whether this is something I can reasonably do. It’s nice to hear that it helped you.

So I suppose this is a meta-complaint. I thought about how to post something anonymously but the risk is obviously always higher than not posting anything at all. So it would be foolish to attempt that.

But, I can meta-complain. I can meta-complain and people will at least know there is something killing me inside.

Thanks for listening to this useless off-my-chest post and indulging me slightly.

Thanks, if I somehow stumble on somebody who mentions even one thing I can relate to, I’ll be sure to listen and absorb what was said.

What do you think of combining this approach with simple train of thought and/or sporadic notes? Funnily enough I didn’t even think of writing on a schedule or in a structured way until you just mentioned it.

Yes I was quite afraid, or maybe just somewhat prepared, that a healthy solution is not possible.

I guess I should note that a minimization of pain is better than nothing. So I’ll take any ideas that are healthy-adjacent at least.

Haha, I’m scared that if I can push myself to write on paper, I won’t be able to stop. I think a cross shredder will be a worthy investment in the long run, so I’ll have to delve into that more.

I really appreciate this idea. I’ve always thought I was no good at traditional “art” but perhaps I need to broaden my idea of what will constitute art and what can be made and kept in plain sight.

Yes. Ok well that complicates things, but I suppose a piece of string small enough may be able to dangle out of the closed door and maybe be slightly moved…

[–] ehguyitsmebuddy@lemmy.world 1 points 11 hours ago (1 children)

Ok, that’s a good point and something appreciated insight.

You’re right, I should try thrift stores at least. I do have a strip shredder but I would want to spend so long cutting that it wouldn’t be sustainable in my case.

Thank you. This is really insightful and something that I think might be a robust solution for me. I’ll research GPG more, I clearly need to.

Thank you. I don’t have a cross shredder and can’t afford one right now.

Let’s assume a page count of 5 or less at a time for safety, in this case a metal can sounds like a good method.

As for chemicals, I suppose I’ll need to research this further but it’s a good idea I didn’t think of.

Appreciated.

If you are unable to share certain thoughts or feelings with any other human in any meaningful way, how can a person manage this in a healthy way?

Both psychologically sound and proven methods as well as personal anecdotes are welcome.

Please assume sharing is non-negotiable which precludes close friends, family, and/or professionals.

If items in a fireproof safe are purposefully set on fire with a fully closed and locked safe, are contents outside of the safe generally safe from fire?

The safe can be placed in a secluded spot and on stone.

How to manage controlled burning of paper either inside or in a backyard where fires may or may not be legal. I am not endorsing or personally considering these actions in any inappropriate setting.

Does it exist, some sort of encrypted journal-like app where I can type things which will be forever locked away? In my mind and in a place I can feel confident about, without a doubt.

Pen and paper requires burning afterwards, I don’t think I want to do this.

I know no opsec solution is perfect. I need some sort of outlet. I need some sort of solution.

I was thinking. Maybe, at least, some solution where even though access is non-negotiable, if somebody does get in, I can accept that the entity was already determined enough to end things.

Thanks.

Edit: I should I guess mention the obvious such as encryption and possibly authentication with a hardware security key. Any other features that might be out there I am hoping to hear about.

New account because I’m a nice, happy guy normally I promise. Let me talk about Ontario’s social services and my application to ODSP and experience with the healthcare system.

Maybe not relegated to Ontario but it's all I have experience with.

I'm still waiting for my ODSP denial or approval. Based on the overwhelming statistics and sentiment I've seen, the vast majority are denied and made to jump through hoops.

Why is the government so dead set on making social services as difficult as possible to achieve? Why isn't a medical professional's sign off enough to have an application approved?

Do they not trust the doctors to act honestly? If not then perhaps they should try to correct the source of their concerns rather than making people go through a level of contrived bullshit that rivals a Rube Goldberg machine.

Also, I don't care if some ODSP case workers are good, how are some under such little accountability that they can literally ignore messages from citizen taxpayers who are asking questions? Understaffed? Then increase the budget and staffing.

And how about seeing a specialist in this country?

Wait times can be nearly a year and in some cases longer. We aren't staffing enough in this department either?

People can't get family doctors? Why have we let this issue fester for so long? The writing has been on the wall for long enough. Change doesn't happen overnight, no shit, so why did we not start much, much sooner?

I don't want a comparison to America - this is not America - this is Canada and it does not need to be this way nor has it always been this abysmal.

And hey, you got on ODSP? Congrats, you are under the microscope now because fuck you for proving (and fighting) for your eligibility. Or maybe your need for ODSP has ended for whatever reason or you manage to get a job? Enjoy us fucking you in the ass with clawbacks because hey this isn't a free ride, and don't think we'll let you escape your sickness and poverty prison here.

Fuck you and shame on you Ontario leadership for allowing this to go on for so long. Do they see the issues, or are they too poor to afford the prescription for their glasses - that would make sense. More likely though they just don't give a fuck.

Shit ass system with clowns running it that failed at their auditions to Circe du Soleil and somehow got lost at government offices in their collective clown car and decided it was the kind of working environment they were after.

Fuck you to everyone involved in this shameful lack of care for your citizens and your failure to see or hear from your own populace. Helen Keller would've been a step up from what we have now, at least she had some morals and backbone.

Covid was nothing folks because I'm afraid to say our province's leadership was already affected by the "shit-for-brains" illness years ago which seems to unfortunately have no cure.

Dumb fucking idiots. I await my denial, appeal, denial, tribunal, and acceptance.

Edit: apologies, misspelled “fester” as “foster”, along with a few other grammar/spelling fixes. Must be my useless government-leeching brain detracting from my English skills… I’ll book an appointment for early 2027 to get it checked out
