Plenty of people know how to fix it. Problem is they’re busy driving taxis, building houses, cutting hair and delivering mail.

But hey, we can charge everything using USB-C so.. yay? 😒
~~Pepperidge Farm~~ Nintendo remembers.
Agreed. But also make actually healthy food accessible, available, and affordable. It is SO expensive to eat a diet that isn't trying to give me cancer or a host of other health issues. Being able to eat well should be a basic access right, not a privilege of the well-off.
The more headlines like this that do the rounds the less people roll their eyes at me when I tell them I will not have Windows 11 in my house and proceed to preach the virtues of Linux haha
One of those things that is both true and wildly misleading. Maybe sex offenders aren’t the ones to be considering for early release when there’s people sat in jail for, and don’t get me wrong, very real crimes but crimes that didn’t have actively attacking and abusing someone at their core 🤔
“I was with a father whose daughter had been horribly groomed in my constituency just a few weeks ago. It is hugely important that when the perpetrators of this crime are arrested, they can be sent to prison.”
Yes, just not for very long 😒
Same with Schools here. Government think it’s more important that kids be sitting in sweltering heat, uncomfortable, unable to take anything in, fostering a deep and real sense that the government and their school couldn’t give an actual shit about their wellbeing because “school os the best place for children to be”. Bollocks, they just want diligent worker drones to keep feed the “economy” rather than do something as petty as, oh I don’t know.. make sure their kids are safe? Ya know, the very people that will be those worker drones the government want to be useful in the future? Infuriating
We essentially already jad a de facto universal charging standard in USB-A. Whether the end that plugged into the device with USB-C, lightning, micro-USB, mini-USB they all had the venerable USB-A connector at the other end. So regardless of what device you were charging you could hook it into any old USB-A charger and be on your way.
Then “everything must be USB-C” gets half-arsed into being. Suddenly anyone who hadn’t already stopped packing chargers with their devices used the “reduce ewaste!” rhetoric of the ruling to justify only supplying a cable. Greenwashing but OK. Problem was then Apple and everyone else immediately jumped to packing USB-C to USB-C cables. Now there’s a bunch of USB-A chargers needlessy defunct and a lot of people had to actually but more chargers so they had something that worked with a C to C cable. Or but an A to C cable but still waste that was utterly needless and entirely predictable.
