I think of this a lot as a teacher. So let me add successful careers are built on the willingness to defend the people, too. But for that to happen, we all need a good dose of reddy redsome class consciousness.

Allies

This, I second that. Excluding theMilei types of the "anarchist" right, of course (in truth they are turbocapitalists).

I keep thinking of Durruti in the Spanish Civil War. Someone who fights fachos deserves respect in my view.

The debate around what future is the best communism, if Lenin-style or ancom, is largely academic. Top-bottom and bottom-top politics are two sides of the same dialectic (socialism vs communism). It needs to be solved dialectically, but only after the Trumps of the century have been buried in the dumpster of history.

Therefore, thinking from historical materialism, I prefer to think of anarchism as part of a socialist or leftist tradition and not as an ideal society. The first is useful (Durruti), the second is political fiction. Fun but fantastical.

So we're going to do more mass disinfo, fake news, etc. More Schroedingers Russia, super war machine ready to invade Lisbon by tomorrow but at the same time orcs with pocket knives and using mules and crying over Ukranian toilets cause no toilets in (Soviet?) Russia.

What I like is the poster. What the square of secret police swear to defend is science, technology, info, docs and... diamonds.

Todo bien, gracias. I had to look up "piola", it's fun how one never fully learns their own mother language xD

Thanks. I'd say it's actually the opposite. I used to think philosophy is for "mad" nerds, but I realized later that redesigning mental interiors, throwing away the old broken furniture, is the sane way to think and to live.

Hello everyone, I've just joined Lemmygrad.

I wanted to say I have been lurking this site for a year and it has been an eye-opener.

In particular, there is something that has long bugged me. It's people who say "capitalism bad, but somehow communism worse [insert Warhammer 40K level of victims]". Yet they pretend to be on the left.

Well, thanks to Lemmygrad, I have learnt to identify those useful idiots from the liberal camp. In Spain, my native country, we call them "progres" (from progressive, but better understood more or less as "succ-dems").

I highly respect the opinions you all post here. Not only are they well-researched but also compellingly presented.

In case you're wondering, my radicalisation pipeline was Jacobin -> Mastodon -> Lemmy. But I also come from a family with leftist traditions. It was my old man who introduced me to Marxism. Sadly, he burnt out during the long neoliberal desert post-1989.

Beyond languages and philosophy, I'm a video game nerd. Not gonna lie, I've used the ideas in the Gaming community to defend games as art in an academic essay.

I don't have much time to post because of real-life responsibilities. Anyway, I wanted to show you all my appreciation.

Thanks. Let's continue the struggle until the fash heil Hitler in hell.

EDIT: Addendum to the "two devils of capitalism = communism": it totally destroys hope in the alternative. It is a form of shitty nihilism.

EDIT 2: Thanks to you all for the heartwarming welcome :)
