meow-hug I definitely resonate with that. I feel like when i talk to her you can see the dissonance hitting her, its like she knows she cant deny it but there is something internally that is holding her back from admitting it and she isn't willing to let it go.

Thank you for your support and comment meow-hug Luckily I do believe that she is willing to listen with time. In regards to you other note, I made sure to do some customizing and once I decided on using it more I wrapped it with faux leather to make its accents pop doggirl-thumbsup

Does anyone have any advice on how to convince my mother that I'm disabled?

Context tw ableismI was born with ectrodactyly on both hands and feet. During youth my mom was supportive of me in the "If you try hard enough you can do anything" so of way and to her credit I was pretty athletics and was the goat (international awards and such). But i feel like my athletic prowess skewed her perception of my disability. Now in my twenties, these feet aint made to be stood on and I've been condition to assume constant chronic pain is normal. I've been using a cane that my grandfather carved for the last week and when my uncle came over yesterday I was telling him about how it has been extending my feet mileage. When my mother entered the conversation that only thing she had to note was that she thought it was a "fashion statement" and laughed :(
This isn't the first time either, I was talking to my father whos a doctor about wanting to get an ADA parking permit and she chimed in to say it would be selfishly taking away the spot from people who "really need it." At this point i don't know where to go with it.

Thanks for responding, I would love to find someone to shadow and may have to start within a bigger corporation but will still work to find a corp I respect before having to resign to the oligarch doggirl-sweat

Thanks for the comment! My family has a lot of history in medicine and I like the idea of working to keep peoples medical data secure. Is my only option to work in that sector working for someone like Permera or a EMR company like Epic?

Hello, I'm rearing near the end of my bachelors in cybersecurity and although I love networking and security, I find myself lost for where to go. I know I have valuable skills but my job market is full of grime. I'd rather work of geek squad turning off and on computers than find myself working for some crypto bro or god forbid the government. Half my courses were just putting me in the chair watching my teacher sloppy toppy AWS, Open AI or Cisco and I fear my education is railroading me into working for the institutions I'm opposed to. I want to use my degree justly. I still have time before I graduate and am looking for direction that wont seppuku my morals. Any and all advice is helpful.
