I do think that's an important part to a potentially successful socialist experiment: having a "capitalist," or industrialization, phase. Marx wrote about the socialist revolution beginning in an industrialized, capitalist(?) country like Germany, the UK, or the US because these people were at the heart of the capitalist, imperialist core and had felt the exploitation.

But, it seems that socialism has mainly arisen within countries that were exploited by those industrialized, capitalist countries through colonialism. I think it's because the people in the imperial-capitalist nations are just comfortable enough to not revolt; while the people being exploited through colonialism live through hell each waking moment. Sure, work's hard and you don't own the means of production, but, you have a house you can go home and relax in. The people in those colonial countries don't have any of that, making the revolution almost inevitable.

Can anyone direct me to sources on how China's government works. Like elections or processes of moving stuff around.

I understand how the DPRK's elections and processes work, but I don't think I've ever looked into China.

I think that quote perfectly sums things up.

Another thing, though. The word socialist is casually used to refer to countries with socialist intent who are working towards it, similar to communist, but socialism literally means a state where the proletariat dictate the means of production and the political system. Does that truly create multiple definitions of the word? To my knowledge, there hasn't been a state that has met the literary definition, same with communism, but we still use it.

Do anti-Deng people dislike him for the reason of not building a literal socialist state, or do they genuinely think that he was trying to move China away from even working towards it? From everything I've seen, Deng was a Marxist.

I'm wondering, why do some people really dislike Deng and his reforms? I can get being disappointed in him moving away from what Mao built and more traditional Marxism/M-Lism, but it does seem like he's made real material good within China and the people who have come after him have kept that good. I don't know all too much about him, so, from an outside perspective, it seems like he's done decent and his market reforms, while not 100% Marxist, have lead to decent living in the modern day. But, I could be wrong.

Also, is that what Ultras are? Those really insane people who freak out on you for stepping out of their line? Those people who take themselves and their "mission/ideology" way too seriously. I've met a few genuine freaks but I never had a word for them.

When it comes to being against the state, if they really cannot get you on anything (your job, citizen status, your criminal record, if you’re licensed to carry a firearm, your actions while being against them), they will then come for your sexuality and more personal details.

Now, this singular instance of a news org making things up about Alex Pretti isn’t the fullest example, but it shows you really what they do. None of these things are real, no pictures are of him, and it’s obvious the article was AI generated; but the people in comments on Facebook believed it, and what’s it take for the state and the right to co-opt this into their rhetoric?

You can see people digging into Kyle Rittenhouse’s victim’s backgrounds; their criminal records and such.

It happened to Martin Luther King Jr.. When they couldn’t get him on anything, they would then start making things up, or digging into every little thing he’s ever done.

From the FBI’s fake letter to MLK where they pose as a Black American: “Lend your sexually psychotic ear to the enclosure. You will find yourself and in all your dirt, filth, evil and moronic talk exposed on the record for all time. I repeat - no person can argue successfully against facts. You are finished. You will find on the record for all time your filthy, dirty, evil companions, male and females giving expression with you to your hidious abnormalities. And some of them to pretend to be ministers of the Gospel. Satan could not do more. What incredible evilness. It is all there on the record, your sexual orgies. Listen to yourself you filthy, abnormal animal. You are on the record. You have been on the record - all your adulterous acts, your sexual orgies extending far into the past. This one is but a tiny sample. You will understand this. Yes, from your various evil playmates on the east coast to [__] and others on the west coast and outside the country you are on the record. King you are done.” (FBI-King Letter, paragraph 4). In this, they attempt to reach into King’s personal life and bring out (fake, probably) his “evil” acts.

This shows the morality at the time, but also how King’s life as a man of God was being turned against him. These people had nothing, so they turned to fake slander.

They did this same thing to Renee Good. They literally could not muster and explanation or rebuttal for her execution, so they turned to her sexuality. They no longer cared that she was murdered for no reason, they admitted they liked that she was killed while being a lesbian. They are now making things up about Pretti, but it just shows that they support his death because they think he was queer.

This is a bit of an old video, but I just want it to be out there

It seems a part of their hand was injured. This video comes from a post on Reddit talking about ICE using dangerous, but non-lethal kinetic rounds on protestors.

ICE is not crowd control or the local police. They are waaaaaay out of line with all of their current actions.

Let me know if there's an even better place to put this

I think everyone should know how to download webpages from the internet to keep as a mirror on their devices. Even if there's nothing coming, it's always good to have a backup of important information.

Wget is a tool on your computer which can download entire webpages onto your computer. It downloads and all links into files. Here's a video on installing and using it, as well as a place to download it if you're on Windows.

I have personally downloaded Kim Il Sung, Kim Jong Il, Mao, Lenin, Stalin, and the Black Panther's entire Marxist Internet Archive pages. Everything from them on that site.

Has anyone gotten their friends into communism?

I've seemingly started a chain reaction within my online friendgroup of people turning into leftists and getting into communism. I first got my friend into it by just talking about politics and stuff, he even used to argue with me about "communism's never worked" or "doesn't North Korea do [thing]." Eventually he switched up and I actually got him to read theory like Marx. Then, me and the first guy got another friend into it and now he's beginning his journey into theory and understanding. Today, I've just seen that 2nd guy sending another guy Principles of Communism.

It's really cool seeing people start out, how they grow and change with it.

All of these people were liberals/left-aligned/not even really interested in politics before, so, it goes to show that liberals and the such aren't always a lost cause and with some effort you can get them into it.

I've gotten some bs warnings before. Sometimes they don't even tell you what they're freaking out about.

They've been going after leftist spaces for so long. That whole thing with r/Deprogram and others for Kirkposting, or people who rightfully want to mutilate ICE agents for what they've done. They allow bot-infested, hate-filled echo chambers like r/Conservative who spread hate and bigotry.

They get to say "shouldn't disobey an ICE agent" to a video of them letting off 3 rounds into an innocent person's face, but we get the end of the stick where we have to censor our vitriol for these stormtroopers when they do it.

There's so many libs that come in. Like, why comment on a sub you disagree with?

I also saw that your Reddit account got suspended, what happened. If you are the same person from there.

I posted it on TankieTube and sent the link here, hopefully it works

[–] GeoffreyKlien@lemmygrad.ml 2 points 5 days ago

Okay, I posted it there then sent it here. That's a pretty interesting site. I've been looking into ways to disconnect from typical methods of internet use like that.
