Companies by their own nature are profit seeking above everything else, so I trust them to do anything in their power to deliver profits to the shareholders. I don't trust them not to rape the oceans to death.

Things like bottom trawling are a bit fucked... It's literally scraping the bottom of the barrel when it comes to our fish stocks.

Weird when experts say we can give fishing areas less than a decade of rest and they can bounce back provided they aren't totally destroyed... But fish stock preservation isn't in the companies interests.

I know so many stoners that were pissed that the referendum failed... Did they vote? Nah. Too stoned.

Lmao.

The cynic in me says it's because these apartments aren't being designed for Traditional Western needs, They're aimed for the most common "New" New Zealander who is from East Asia- Just set up your Gas cooker and you'll be right. Do your dishes and bathing out of a Plastic bowl.

Don't complain, Kiwis have it so good remember, We have toilets and water we can ~~mostly ~~drink straight from the tap.

The area i'm in is now a "Transitional Housing Zone" and the old 1/4 Acre blocks are being brought up by developers and having the Single Family Home demolished and they're whacking up 12 hideous shoebox style Apartments.

Reduce access to education, eliminate the media standards. This can only go well....

They've touted an 'export driven recovery'

This means driving down our dollar to make our products attractive on the international market.

On the flip side it makes any products that we import more expensive.

So we sacrifice the well-being of the many, to make numbers go up for the exporters.

Don't get me wrong, I know that primary industrys support many businesses and people down the chain. But when everybody is paying more for materials, products, consumables, the benefits are eaten up by the increased costs.

Nz First makes me so tired, they're like a glimpse into the future of vibes based politicking A+B testing whatever rage generating issue they can get the population to think they care about whilst backhandedly contributing to the Great Grift.

I used to hang with a few of them a decade ago, they really love playing the game but if you think for one second that they genuinely care about anything other than their Ministerial perks and access to power you're as nuts as a Herald News Facebook comments section.

Best memories of my childhood were camping out in the wild with my family.

Cheers Dave, how was your day?

Agreed, but seems like a typical article to keep folks arguing with each other whilst the great grift continues.
