Recently on X, people were arguing about the terms Turkish and Turkic. Some ppl believe that Turkish means someone from Türkiye or belongs to Türkiye, so the Turkic must be used. What do you guys think about this?

I personally believe that Turkish or Turk is the same and it is the common term for all Turkish people. Turkic is a made up name by westerners I dont know why.

As a person from Türkiye it discomforts me to use Turkic for Turkish people from other countries. It is just Turk.

• Kyrgyzstan has stepped up inspections under its "State Language Law" and has begun removing commercial signs and billboards in foreign languages—primarily Chinese—that do not comply with legal standards.

• The campaign, which began in the capital, Bishkek, in April, had expanded to Osh, the country's largest city in the south, by July 2026.
