Is there a way to block those bots that just directly link recent Reddit posts from similarly named subs? Or is this a feature you would consider implementing in the future, if feasible? There's generally no interaction on these posts. They get spammed in batches it seems, which clogs my feed, so I'd rather just not see any of them.

go to lemmy profile settings on a web browser. you can uncheck “Show bot accounts”

Thanks for that. I unchecked the "show bots" option on lemm.ee, so I'm confident I won't see them anymore. I still think it would be a nice feature to add in Connect, as it's more convenient and would apply to accounts across instances

Via the settings you can hide all bots, but you'll miss out some useful bots around here

Also keep in mind this is only going to block good faith bots -- accounts marked this way. So you might end up blocking all of the useful bots that self identify as such but still be left with crap content from accounts continuing to repost more covertly

if you want to block lemmit.online, the bot that post is just one, so blocking it as a user should be enough.

also, it does only post in its instance, so you can filter the instance, and that also would work.

I was referring to the ones that repost from Reddit across many instances. It's true that there's still not many, so blocking as I come across them is fine, but I'd rather not see them at all.

Jerboa has an option to not show bot posts at all, maybe connect has that too.

I looked in the Connect settings and didn't see it. But it's nice to know that it is something doable.

You can do it right in your lemmy settings. Blocking bot@lemmit.online probably covers most though.
