Hey everyone, I've just updated pricing points for around 100 different countries for removing ads.

Please let me know how these look, it's been quite the challenge getting this right in so many different regions.

I'll be expanding localised pricing to ultra following feedback from this thread.

Cheers, Lj

Without any insight into how likely people are to pay for stuff like this in Chile, I'd say the price is a bit low here considering it's a one time payment. I think you can go closer to 10000 CLP, though again I'm basing this only on how much I'd be willing to pay.

I have the same thought about the price in India. Just ₹200 for the ad free option seems lower than he needs to be. He can increase the price by 50-100% and be low enough that people who were ready to buy at ₹200 will still buy it

Thanks a lot lj, more than reasonable a price for an amazing app

[-] thimantha@lemmy.world 5 points 1 year ago

Super reasonable pricing in Sri Lanka. Will upgrade to Ultra Lifetime once (or if) you localise that. Keep being amazing and doing amazing work LJ! You rock.

Haven't been able to find the one time purchase in the app. I did monthly when it first came out, maybe that's why?

[-] aaronstc@lemmy.world 6 points 1 year ago

If you have Ultra it hides the ad removal option. Which makes sense since Ultra also removes ads.

[-] ljdawson@lemmy.world 6 points 1 year ago

Monthly will be localised too

[-] GarytheSnail@programming.dev 4 points 1 year ago

I had the same happen.

I had to use the "reset ultra subscription (debug or dev)" or something similar to that. And then Restart the app and it showed up.

Obligatory: Is support for a version without Google Play Services coming?

Very reasonable price for Taiwan, R.O.C. Would love to see the localised prices for ultra. Thank you for bringing this fantastic app to lemmy!

Maybe someone can help me. I used to live in dubai but now live in India but still have all my Google play pricing in uae dirhams. How do i localise it to my current permanent home - India?

[-] boyi@lemmy.sdf.org 5 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

One other simple way is to open a new Google account and associate with your bank account in India. You can have more than one accounts in concurrent. Than install the app using the new Google account. That way, you won't lose your dubai account which might have certain regional benefit.

If your your new installed app is still associated to UAE account, even though you install it through the new account, you need to install it through browser (not through Google Play app). Uninstall current app, and then sign in to Google Play with the new account through the Web browser. Install the lemmy app through there. The new install app should be associated to the new account.

This worked. Thanks! Tho weirdly yearly is double the cost of lifetime. Maybe lj hasn't done yearly yet

Lifetime Sync for reddit pro was 3€, sync for Lemmy is 114€. With that hefty price tag, you might as well just pay for the reddit api calls... This price is borderline insane.

I have a system wide android ad blocker but I always pay for apps to support the developers, but this... nope.

[-] ljdawson@lemmy.world 6 points 1 year ago

That's ultra. Remove ads (pro) is ~€19.

[-] Razp@lemm.ee 4 points 1 year ago

I wonder what is the price in Estonia now. I have paid the original price and can't check now :)

[-] Accuaro@lemmy.world 4 points 1 year ago

$170 AUD?!?! ..and when I thought Apollo life time purchase for $80 was too much.

[-] Krachsterben@feddit.de 4 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

He said adjusted pricing for Ultra is coming soon.

Removing ads is $25 in Australia, down from 35 or something before

Hi LJ, thanks a lot for the adjustments! I hope you'll also reduce the price of lifetime Ultra for Indonesia. Currently it's set at IDR 1.56mio, while the minimum wage in the capital city is at IDR 4.5mio, and most cities are at IDR 2mio. I've been a Reddit Sync user since 2014 so I definitely want to support you as much as possible, but unfortunately the price is prohibitively expensive.

[-] ljdawson@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago

I'll be localising ultra soon.

[-] lastweakness@lemm.ee 4 points 1 year ago

Thank you so much! Got lifetime ultra yesterday :)
