MODERATORS

More than 300 scientists from across the Americas, Europe, Asia, Africa and Oceania are calling for greater AI safety measures in an open letter.

The letter gave three recommendations:

  • Adopting high-assurance containment systems, and initially defaulting to air-gapping, which means disconnecting from the internet, for cyber-capable AI models.
  • Creating an international body to record and track AI containment failures.
  • Reporting security incidents to the body and making them public.

The federal government is finalising its national AI standards and plans to legislate new rules in 2027.

The containment "breaks" are intentional. Its a marketing ploy to stay in the news cycle.

Treat them like the crimes that they are and itll stop happening.
