Funny thing is, that usually works for emulators. Makes you feel like you're pressing "Skip" but for the loading screen

Yes, I always toggle fast forward on loading screens!
I'm so used to this that sometimes I even instinctively try to toggle it on in non-emulated games π
But then you're speeding up the emulator itself, not the game - it's like the game is running on better hardware while the button is pressed.
I initially read this as something useful:
Slow down the update loop thing by 1000x while loading to reduce overhead.
Which seems like a nice thing to do.
What does this do?
Speeds up loading by 1000x (but not really, because it's a joke)
https://docs.godotengine.org/en/stable/classes/class_engine.html#class-engine-property-time-scale
Thanks! Good joke, I guess! π
I know nothing, but it looks like they're trying to set game speed to 1000x before loading a level.
The (obviously facetious) implication being that it would speed up load times because everything is running 1000x faster.
@Ludicrous0251 @damnthefilibuster yeah, it's a meme π
As much as a meme this is, this is exactly how loading works in Fallout games. There is literally a βfast loadβ mod you can install that uncaps the engine fps during load then recaps it after.
