Someone else posted a 'how to' question, so I figured I'd try to get some light on my pet peeve regarding the otherwise lovely CoMaps...

I have two routes here that I have planned. Is there a way to have CoMaps actually run navigation along these? I for sure haven't discovered how to do that.

It's not possible at the moment. However, there is an open issue about it on Codeberg.

Thanks! Maybe one day. I'd recall that OsmAnd also missed this feature, though it's been a while since switching to CoMaps.

... yes indeed it has, and I found how to use it. Switched back.

Set your start and end points, then tap the mode of transportation (car, bike, etc), then tap a place you want to visit along the way and tap "add stop". that isn't quite the same as choosing highways directly, but you could add a highway ramp as a "stop".

This is how I've been doing it. Very much a hassle, as I absolutely want to avoid highways (thankfully there is an option) and often also the regional roads if I can see a shorter, nicer route. Both on car and on the motorcycle.

Would be great to be able to only deal with the hassle once and just navigate along the saved route instead of forcing the app's hand with waypoints twice per journey, to there and back 🙈

fair enough. there may be other openstreetmap tools that make this easier
