It's an "all squares are rectangles but not all rectangles are squares" thing.
In this specific case, this was a visual identification script that very likely used the same neural network technology that LLMs are built off, but it itself was not an LLM, but just generically a machine learning AI system.
Edit: I think I am understanding where you're coming from with the comment. I was not refuting it being an artificial intelligence, I was stating that this story is old.
