No one cares what "angry Christians" think or say. Not even most other Christians.

I'm Christian and I confirm. Don't care about what they think. They're just bad rep anyway.

Republicans do, because that's how they exert control.

These people represent an enormous voting block.

A slowly shrinking voting block for now, it appears.

"An A-List actor was cast as the voice of a main character in a remake of a beloved movie. Some of the dumbest people in the world have a problem with it."

So we can display the Jeebus analog as an entirely different species but not with tits?

Name a time when Christians weren't angry and/or afraid and/or killing people.

I wish there was a filter to hide articles that are based on some random dipshit's social media posts.

"Meanwhile, one disgruntled social media user added: “Dear Meryl Streep. I have watched your films and loved your talent for 40 years. Please do not do this. They are using you and your good name to blaspheme Christians.”

Another said: “Bold decision but the type that could destroy buzz for a story with a strong Christian influence. Feels very Snow White-esque. Why does Hollywood keep doing this?”

And someone else wrote: “This is insane. It’s a male lion, the king of beasts and it parallels Christ. This completely changes the story. This movie is DOA!”"

I wouldn’t be surprised if the posts were just fake profiles the writer made and it all ends up just being a bunch of fabrication to promote the movie

Some people seem to think that I began by asking myself how I could say something about Christianity to children; then fixed on the fairy tale as an instrument; then collected information about child-psychology and decided what age-group I’d write for; then drew up a list of basic Christian truths and hammered out “allegories” to embody them. This is all pure moonshine.

Is Narnia christian canon?

So a good Christian will get into the closet?

[–] horus_son_of_isis@lemmy.world 8 points 1 week ago

Obviously. They needed a spin-off because the New Testament has so few talking animals.

It's basically the bible for furries.

[–] zloubida@sh.itjust.works 9 points 1 week ago

God is compared to a female lion in the Bible, so they should read their Bible instead of being angry on the net about a movie…

But she is awesome and that's what gets you to heaven or whatever the great squid/spaghetti monster wants for us in the afterlife.
