The White House press pool on Monday announced it has suspended its televised coverage of President Donald Trump after the White House pulled CNN from its assigned pool coverage duties this week.

“Effective today, the TV pool will not be covering events designated as pool coverage of the President,” Fox News’ Washington bureau chief Bryan Boughton, acting chair of the TV pool consortium, said in a note to TV pool members on Monday.

Boughton on Monday said the other pool coverage, which includes print and radio, would continue as normal. “We will provide updates as this situation develops,” he added.

When Fox News won't put Trump on TV, you know it's something.

They know they will be first to get kicked out of the press pool if the wind changes direction.

I think they realize that if they bend the knee their coverage will start mirroring OAN and other far reich networks and their programming will start to get boring if that happens. The reason Fox has such high ratings is they allow one token Democrat on for bloodsport arguments. If it's all Republicans all the time, there won't be controversy and they lose eyeballs.

This isn’t Fox News, this is the pool.

Yes, but Faux News is part of the pool, and I would've expected them to be the first to bend the knee, so this is a surprising show of solidarity

Theres FOX News and Fox News. The news arm of the broadcast network is distinct from the cable news channel.

Eh.

American media has spent the last decade utterly failing the American people. I'm not going to place too much faith in them.

This action is going to affect very, very few people: it is most useful to generate more headlines.

While not giving him the attention he desperately craves is sure to get another amusing tantrum, it also makes it easier for him to do things under the radar. Hopefully the suit is resolved quickly and correctly.

It really doesn't change much. It goes from bullshit distractions and doing stuff under the radar to just doing stuff under the radar.

Seems to me they have more time to cover the Epstein files

[–] 13igtyme@startrek.website 1 points 1 week ago

Wishful thinking, unfortunately.

No one can believe anything he says, so might as well not share what he says.

And there yes, but we're in for the unprecedented waters. Literally nothing they have to say that the press is guaranteed to have any truth to it.

We may actually be better off with them reporting on what he does versus what they keep saying.
