Huh... that's funny - the link above with the puzzle didn't consider that move. Insists Pawn to D3 is black's response to the first move, marked it as solved on Queen to B5.

Nope. Knight to c7 blocks the bishop and keeps it from being a 2 move checkmate.

Rook on the right pins the knight if you move the bisshop on the right.

That bishop and rook on the right is basically a band-aid to make the puzzle work.
