I saw this adorable old lady in the exam room today.
Peeked behind the curtain and she was having breakfast. She had a giant piece of meaty chunk hanging out her mouth that would have been about the equivalent of a person with a whole large burger patty hanging out the corner of her mouth.
It sadly fell off before I could get a chance to grab my phone, but she was still adorable, so if you love old opossums as much as the babies, here's a nice one for you.
So much love for this old lady! She looks adorable and I would give her all the cuddles (if she wants cuddles that is. She may want more food 😆)
She was very thrilled for that breakfast! This is her afterwards trying to find a nice position for her post-breakfast nap.
After working with just young ones all summer, this gal looks huge! Probably well past the cuddles, but she was really pleasant, no hissing or even appearing bothered by us whatsoever.
We got a load of squirrel babies though that don't mind a post-meal cuddle! I had one fall asleep in my arm and not want to leave, and another was riding around on my shoulder and chest as I was cleaning up some things and needed to free up my hand. Was talking with the owner about how squirrels seem to go through many cycles of loving us vs hating us unlike most of the other animals where it's a straight shot to independence.
Those squirrels sound adorable! You get to spend time with the loveliest animals!
They were all great today. I spare you guys the details of the gross stuff! Some of the things I saw last week I'll be remembering for a long time 🫣😄
