idk about dogs but my cats seem to think its just another hand. if anything i think they trust foot pets more because ive never picked them up and brought them to the vet with my feet lol.

My cats have all found foot pets to be rude and shy away from them! Maybe I just don't have enough fine control. Maybe my feet are stinky...
My cats get SO offended by foot pets, too. One of my cats will attack feet if touched with them, immediately. The other one just stink-eyes and walks away.
The dog will lick its own ass. I don’t think it cares about feet.
Judging by the looks my dog gives me, they find it disrespectful, unless you're hitting that spot, you could scratch that spot with the vacuum cleaner and they wouldn't give a shit b
My childhood dog absolutely couldn't tell the difference between hands and feet, he would try giving me his ball to throw into my foot, annoyed that it would just roll off my toes onto the ground

My dogs will lick the absolute shit out of my feet more than my hands unless my hands recently touched food. I don't think they mind.

I think mine think I'm sort of an asshole when I do it. When they were puppies they wanted to bite and play with feet and constantly got bitched at to leave them alone, then after learning they should not interact with human feet at all their hypocrite human starts rubbing it's fucking feet on them.
My huskie will try to bite my foot after 3 or 4 foot pets for probably the latter.
One cat absolutely hates it and prefers hand pets. Another adores it and even prefers it, probably because my feet can't grab her. The other two don't really care.
