Their entire argument is, "we don't like that the law on the books applied to us." It was objectively the correct decision based on the laws on the books. It was also subjectively correct, because nobody wants that shit in the game. Any argument against it boils down to not liking something that hurts you.
Embolo was a fucking moron for trying to cheat in the middle of the field. Best case scenario is Switzerland keeps possession in the middle of the field (not a dangerous free kick location) and the defender gets a yellow. Worst case is you lose the fucking game. It's one thing to do this in the box or in a dangerous free kick location where you have a legit shot to get a goal out of it. Hell, the only reason he got the yellow was because VAR was able to review the defender's yellow. If he hadn't sold it so much, the defender might have only gotten a common foul and it wouldn't have been reviewable.
