It's only selected places in Australia, not the whole country

Soapstone batteries... If it's literally free from overproduction just heat up soapstone and now you don't need a furnace to heat your home.

Same if you had a couple thousand liters of water-glycol mix in an insulated tank you chill down with a heat pump to provide cooling.

Or do district heat and cooling for dense urban cores.
