I'm in, just need enough people with us to make it something other than a fancy way to commit suicide. Don't suppose you have a few hundred thousand close friends?
Socialism
Rules TBD.
Technically that's already the case, we vote in elections and we have courts.
However, a significant proportion of the electorate is swayed by the promise of something, without any real means of enforcing it, other than the next election, which starts the cycle again.
Having shorter election cycles might look attractive, but we're already dealing with election driven policy, shorter cycles would make it worse, not to mention the massive increase in cost for running more elections.
We already know that dictatorships don't work for anyone other than the dictator, but we still elect people who want nothing short of their own immortality and permanent leadership.
Do we need to improve things, sure, but we're dealing with something that goes back at least as far as Plato.
Here's an article exploring the quote that Democracy is the least worst form of Government.
This is, to put it nicely, one of the most libbed up r/iamverysmart comments I have ever read.
The problem is not any single aspect of liberal democracy, the problem is the entire liberal political economy underpinning capitalism.
This whole comment is dripping with smugness and naivete in equal measure. The answer has been right in front of us for over 100 years and it rhymes with ommunism.
Wow, smugness and libbed up .. not sure how, but there's nothing quite like playing the person, not the ball.
I see no working example of Communism anywhere on Earth, plenty of semi-dictatorships that claim to be communist and so far not particularly welcoming for human rights or gender equality, never mind quality of life.
the pedophiles who rule us salute you

Comrade, what are you actually doing on /Socialism?
Responding to what I thought was a genuine question with what I thought was a genuine answer.
