I was learning Blender Character Modelling for my novel's cover and... Pshhh! I have done the head, and a massive head-ache struck me:

If this was the head, imagine the body. The hands. The feet. The cloths. The scarf.

What the fuck, man?! I thought it was a piece of cake. Oh, goodness, I shoulda learned to draw instead!

Take a look at MakeHuman, I've used it for quite a few characters.

(From wikipedia) "MakeHuman is a free and open source 3D computer graphics middleware designed for the prototyping of photorealistic humanoids."

Imagine how hard drawing is tho, you gotta make a (usually) 3d image from flat lines on paper… literally creating depth and detail and texture from nothing. Art doesn’t come easy to most, so it’s rewarding and very human, and it’s why AI art will never be considered real by anyone serious. 😂

Who the fuck takes a look at a digital sculpture and says "that was a piece of cake"? Do you also look at famous paintings and say "anybody coulda done that"?

Yes. With time and energy and being depressed three days a week (with Naruto sad music in the background), I believe anybody can do it.

Believe it!

and now check out this masterpiece made in blender https://youtu.be/J4ACew5GlNA

i do a little environment art as a hobby (no you can't see it) and it's a goddamn nightmare. with how miserable the tools are it's astonishing to me anything ever gets done. if digital 2D art was that bad nobody would do it.
