Bizarre framing lol
As an older person I feel sadness that young people cannot see how beautiful and interesting they are in all their individuality (we have to communicate this to them) and I also feel anger that our current culture is doing them damage.
As long as pretty privilege exists some variant of this will exist.
I think it throws shade on the pretense that younger generations are less superficial and more intentional and thoughtful.
Anyone that believes that in the first place is suspect.
Regardless, lots of people express that idea strongly and I assume they're sincere.
