Oh cool, so the bubble's finally about to burst.

Filing to go public means they've run out of private venture capital money. So now they're looking to draw in one last big round of investment from the stock market before the company collapses into a husk of its former self and leaves early stock investors holding the bag.

If it were OpenAI I'd agree but Anthropic is one of the few with seemingly solid financials and an actual business model beyond just lighting money on fire. Really curious how things go when they focus on efficiency and smaller models. Google is another that I think is well positioned given their chip design and manufacturing

So remember when Anthropic refused to let Claude spy on US citizens or operate weapons? Expect that to be the first thing the shareholders reverse.
