A friend gifted me a bag of rocks, these are some of my favorites. I'll tumble them after my current batch is done in a couple weeks.

That's what I thought at first, but they don't floresce under UV. I think they might be green calcite.

Check cleavage. Fluorite has octahedral cleavage, while calcite has 3 cleavage planes (one orthogonal to the other two, and the others forming a rhombus, IIRC)

In looking up how to tell, I found this site helpful for someone with only a basic understanding of rocks and minerals.

The lines look more straightish than diamondish to me, especially in that lower right one which is kinda rhomboid, so I think calcite. Good tip!
