If you are reacting like this to a strategic retreat from our comrades in Venezuela, I can't imagine how you will react if you time travelled to the time when Lenin signed the Brest-Litovsk treaty.
As context, Lenin signed the Treaty of Brest-Litovsk, ceding a vast territory to Germany—one rich in population, mines, oil, and gas. Half the left called him a traitor. But if he hadn’t signed, Germany would have invaded, and the Bolshevik Revolution would have ended right there. Lenin gave up all that to buy time.
(Comrades may correct me if I made some imprecisions)Stalin did the same in 1939 with the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact. He signed with the Nazis and pushed the Soviet border further back. He gained two and a half years to prepare before the German invasion he knew was coming. At the time, many criticized him. History judged him differently.
Will you call Lenin a traitor or worse a German spy as well for his decision? Will you dare say at that time that the Bolsheviks needed to be toppled as you are suggesting to Venezuela?
