Apparently they got him in France when he was part of the (Spanish?) Republican forces. Interesting. Important reminder that the Nazis didn't just murder Jews, they also murdered a lot of political activists, POWs, LGBT+ people, disabled, Roma and so on.

I hate that so many people in Germany and the US see and know this, and yet think that we need more of it. Propaganda works ...

They murdered over 12 million people, about half of whom were Jewish.

Hu, the"Stolperstein" art/remembrance project is very well known in Germany, but somehow I hadn't expected it to spread outside our borders as well.

I'm making sure that the one close to my home is always clean and well polished!
