$100k is $25k in 1980 dollars. Yet we're still fighting to get $15 wages in some places, which is still too low to live on.
Yeah, this is something people don't seem to understand - being a millionaire today is not the same idea as it was 30-40-50 years ago. Hell, you could be a millionaire in name only just by inheriting that house your grandpa bought some 50 years ago for $100k, but today it's worth 1.5-2mil just for the land it is on...
Yeah in Hawaii 100k is like, not middle class at all. That's barely getting by.
